Study: Children’s wrist size linked to heart health

The headline:  Kids’ wrist size tied to heart health

The summary:  A recent study has found that children with a larger wrist circumference had a higher resistance to insulin which is a risk factor tied to heart disease.

The reaction:  I thought this was a pretty obvious finding until I read further.  They’re not just measuring the whole wrist.  They’re measuring the width of the actual wrist bone itself.

Overweight children obviously would have larger wrists, arms, legs, etc. and obesity leads to a multitude of medical issues but it was interesting to read that actual bone size can indicate this as well.
