Congress readying to vote on new budget deal

The headline:  Congress to vote on budget deal that averted shutdown

The summary:  Congress is getting set to vote on the budget deal negotiated between President Barack Obama, House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.  This is the deal that helped avoid a government shutdown just last week.

The reaction:  Indications are that the final vote could be close on this one.  Individuals on both sides still aren’t sure if the spending reduction agreement that was hammered out at the last minute will be agreeable to enough members of Congress to officially pass.

There’s still a fair amount of disagreement over whether the right programs are being cut of even if the cuts agreed upon are going to be enough.
