Bank may be held liable after termites eat through $220,000 in cash in vault

The headline:  Termites eat through $222,000 worth of rupee notes in Indian bank

The summary:  Termites broke into an Indian bank vault and ate through approximately 10 million rupees – about $220,000 in U.S. dollars.

The reaction:  Talk about having money problems.  That’s a whole lot of cash for rodents to be eating through.

I find it almost comical though that the bank may be held liable.  I guess they’re saying that if the bank knew about the infestation and did nothing about it then they have to eat the loss (no pun intended).
