The headline: Texas lawmakers consider 85-mph speed limit

The summary: Lawmakers in Texas are considering raising the speed on certain highways in the state from 75MPH to 85MPH.
The reaction: 85 miles per hour! That seems awfully fast to be driving even if it is on a highway. I’m not sure my car could even go that fast.
The obvious concern is passenger safety. People tend to drive 5-10MPH over the speed limit as is so we could see a lot of travellers in the Lone Star state driving well into the 90s. Thankfully, I don’t live anywhere near Texas. It’s all a little fast for me!
