The summary:  A recent Daily Kos poll shows that 32% of Republicans still believe that Barack Obama was not born in the United States despite the fact that he released his birth certificate last week.

The reaction:  If Republicans still believe that Obama wasn’t born in the U.S. there’s nothing in the world that will satisfy them now outside of being able to hop in a time machine.

I’m guessing that 100% of those Republicans have no proof he was born outside the U.S. outside of a raging conspiracy weed shoved up their keysters.

Roof of Indiana high school gym collapses

The summary:  Most of the roof over the gymnasium at Jasper High School in Indiana collapsed early Monday morning.  No one was injured.  The cause of the collapse has yet to be determined.

The reaction:  Officials at the school believe it is a total loss and looking at the pictures you can see why.

The scary part is that the gym was just hours away from being filled with hundreds of students for the school’s prom.  While losing the roof of the gym is a big loss, losing all of those young lives would have been a far greater tragedy.

The summary:  For those wondering what comes next now that the United States has confirmed the death of Osama bin Laden, 7 of the biggest outstanding questions are answered.

The reaction:  This is really a good read if you’re just wondering “what now?”.

It really underscores the fact that bin Laden’s death while important does not end the global war on terror.  There are splinter cells and affiliates all around the world and the threat of terror will continue into the future.

The reaction:  I haven’t seen any actual photos yet but we’ll post them as soon as they’re released by the White House.

The summary:  In a surprising move, conservative political talk show host Rush Limbaugh took the first several moments of his radio program to praise President Obama for his actions in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

The reaction:  It’s not often you’ll hear a conservative like Rush Limbaugh praising Barack Obama but it happened on Monday.

I think there is a lot of praise to be handed out for the success of the operation and Limbaugh clearly understands the importance of what happened in Pakistan.

Agree or disagree with his viewpoints, it’s nice to see a commentator like Limbaugh “cross the lines” so to speak to praise a job well done.

The summary:  A would-be robber fails to get away with his stolen merchandise after his baggy pants fall down as he’s running away.

The reaction:  People who wear their pants like this look like fools in general but I imagine this brainiac never considered that his pants would fall down.

He’s an idiot for trying to steal.  He’s an idiot for wearing his pants too low.  Five star idiot all around.

Flavor Flav arrested for outstanding warrants

The summary:  Rapper Flavor Flav was arrested on Monday following a routine traffic stop after it was discovered that he had four outstanding misdemeanor warrants for driving offenses.

The reaction:  Considering everything that people get charged with and arrested for this seems relatively minor in comparison.

Driving without a license?  Driving without insurance?  Parking citation?  If Flav were to get arrested for something, my money would have been on drug possession easily.

The reaction:  Perhaps the most ironic thing in this is that with the beard he kind of looks like Osama bin Laden himself!

I can’t stand more than even a few days growth on my face so I can’t imagine what 10 years feels like.
