Harrison Ford calls Shia LeBeouf a “f***ing idiot”
The headline: Ford: LaBeouf a ‘f**king idiot’
The link: http://jam.canoe.ca/Movies/2011/06/29/18351711-wenn-story.html?cid=rssentertainment
The summary: Harrison Ford called his “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” co-star Shia LeBeouf a “f***ing idiot” after LeBeouf stated that he was disappointed with how the movie turned out.
The reaction: Ford is certainly entitled to his opinion but I can’t really see what LeBeouf did wrong here.
He simply said that he didn’t feel that he was able to make the movie live up to the legacy of the others the way he would have liked to. He’s just being honest and I give him credit for being able to look at his own work with a critical eye. Ford was upset because he felt he “turned” on the movie. I think LeBeouf was just being honest. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.
Charlie Sheen admits to steroid use during filming of Major League
The headline: Charlie Sheen Reveals Steroid Use For ‘Major League’ Role
The summary: Charlie Sheen reveals in a recent Sports Illustrated interview that he did steroids for “six or eight weeks” to prepare for his role in the baseball movie Major League.
The reaction: Did anybody tell him that it wasn’t real baseball?
In light of everything that’s happened to Sheen in the last six months I suppose this isn’t at all surprising. The fact that he took steroids indicates that he took his role as Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn just a bit too seriously. I understand wanting your fastball to look good but that’s what the Hollywood cameras are for. Besides, you’re a PRETEND pitcher!
Trump: With Di Nero, “we’re not dealing with Albert Einstein” (with video)
The headline: Donald Trump Defends NY Voting Record — And Slams Robert DeNiro For Bashing Birthers
The summary: In a recent interview with Fox News, Donald Trump responds to Robert Di Nero’s assertion that Trump should drop the Barack Obama birther issue by saying that “we’re not dealing with Albert Einstein”.
The reaction: I love these celebrity vs. celebrity political spats!
Di Nero went on record recently criticizing Donald Trump’s continued push of the Barack Obama birth certificate issue. Today, Trump responds by saying he doesn’t think too highly of Di Nero.
Di Nero has been an outspoken liberal for years and Trump is now becoming an outspoken conservative (at least I think he’s supposed to be a conservative) so it’s not surprising that these two would clash. I tend to agree with Di Nero on this one.
You can see video of Trump’s interview with Fox News below.
Jeremy Renner to replace Matt Damon in “Bourne” franchise
The headline: Jeremy Renner to take over ‘Bourne’ franchise from Matt Damon; Actor will play different character
The summary: Jeremy Renner is set to take over the lead in the upcoming movie “The Bourne Legacy” from Matt Damon. Renner will not portray Jason Bourne but instead will play an entirely new character.
The reaction: Dislike! A lot!
There’s only one Jason Bourne and only one lead actor in the Bourne franchise and that person is Matt Damon. There’s no way you can label a movie “The Bourne Legacy” and not have the Jason Bourne character involved or the person who portrayed him in every film.
I hope this movie is successful but there’s no way it lives up to the original trilogy.
Oscar nominated film director Tim Hetherington killed in Libyan fighting
The headline: Renowned war filmmaker killed in Libya
The link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42682853/ns/world_news-mideastn_africa/
The summary: Tim Hetherington, director of the Oscar nominated war documentary Restrepo, was killed in the Libyan city of Misrata by a rocket-propelled grenade. Three other journalists working beside him were also injured.
The reaction: The Misrata situation is getting more dire by the day and the countless killings that are taking place in Libya absolutely need to come to an end.
I certainly hope this serves as a wake up call as many good innocent folks like Hetherington are getting caught up in this senseless fighting.
High school secretary-turned porn star outed by student after refusing oral sex
The headline: Samantha Ardente, high school secretary-turned porn star, outed by student, fired by school
The summary: A high school secretary moonlighting as a porn star was fired from the school after being outed by a student who asked her for oral sex in exchange for his silence.
The reaction: Wow! That kid has some guts! Blackmailing your school’s secretary for oral sex.
There must be more porn stars working at schools than I’m aware of. I seem to have heard the story of a school teacher/administrator getting fired over a porn star past more than once. Either way, this story’s a wonderfully weird and fascinating read.
Charlie Sheen loses one of his goddesses
The headline: Sheen’s Goddess Leaves Tour — Vows to Return
The link: http://www.tmz.com/2011/04/18/charlie-sheen-goddess-bree-olson-leaves-quits-walks-out/
The summary: Bree Olson, one of Charlie Sheen’s two girlfriends (or goddesses as he calls them), has left Sheen and returned home.
The reaction: Such a strange story. Apparently, Olson left Sheen on Saturday to return home but has recently said that she plans on returning to Sheen in the near future.
I don’t understand much of what Charlie Sheen does or says nowadays and this falls squarely into this category. I’m sure it all makes sense to the Doctor of Winning though.
Nicolas Cage arrested
The headline: Actor Nicolas Cage arrested in New Orleans
The link: http://omg.yahoo.com/news/actor-nicolas-cage-arrested-in-new-orleans/60762
The summary: Actor Nicolas Cage was arrested Saturday night for public drunkenness and domestic abuse in New Orleans.
The reaction: It’s been a long and strange road for Cage since he won an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas. He’s battled personal issues as well as financial ones.
Let’s hope he gets the help he needs to get things back on track.
